About Quilpie

The township of Quilpie is located in far south west Queensland. It is approximately 1000km directly west of Brisbane and is proudly the “Home of the Boulder Opal”. Quilpie has a population of approximately 800 people and is the major service centre for western lying sheep and cattle stations, oil and opal fields and remote communities such as Birdsville, Windorah, Eromanga and Innamincka.
